Tuan Lam

(b. 01/01/1966 - Vietnam)

Tuan Lam was born in Vietnam on New Years Day in 1966, during the unjust Vietnam war. He eventually emmigrated to Canada at the age of 19. He now lives in the Toronto area where he plays poker professionally.

Like many people who leave their countries Lam did it to send money back home. Lam suffered the indignity that many suffer, and worked dead end jobs. Prior to turning pro, Lam worked as a general laborer for a metal company. Eventually Lam enrolled into high school to get his diploma which he got and quickly went to buisness school and set about getting his head start in life, and like many other young students Tuam was finding money hard to come by, a friend came to his aide and offered him a job as a card dealer the only catch was that he would have to play as a prop player when the game was short which meant that Tuam had to learn how to play poker.

Before he realised Tuam Lam was playing Poker and playing well, well enough to support his wife and child as well as send money back home.

Although he had some tournament success Tuam considered himself a cash player but all that changed at the World Series Of Poker 2007 main event where he came 2nd and won a life altering $4,840,981.

This is his third year to attend the WSOP. His prior cashes were 46th place in an event last year and 78th place in a WSOP tournament held in 2005.
